St. Joseph Health Laboratories Receive Reaccreditation

Posted in: Accreditations

(July 6, 2018, Bryan, TX) The St. Joseph Health Laboratories in Bryan and South College Station have recently received reaccreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Every two years the laboratory teams at St. Joseph Health participate in this thorough survey and inspection process. CAP surveyors complete a thorough inspection ensuring that all aspects of laboratory testing, from specimen prep and collection through testing and the delivery of the results to the physician, are in compliance. Out of a total of 3,000-4,000 compliance standards, the St. Joseph Health Laboratories received minimal deficiencies. “The track record of successful CAP inspections our lab has achieved over the years is a testament to their commitment to not only providing our patients and clinicians with the best possible support, but to continuing our mission of excellent patient care.” said Ricardo Diaz, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at St. Joseph Health. “We are extremely fortunate to be partnered with the Brazos Valley Pathology group, led by Dr. Michael Cohen, and we are grateful for their support as we continue to provide excellence for our customers.” ### About St. Joseph Health Established in 1936, St. Joseph Health is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system committed to excellence and compassion in caring for the mind, body and spirit while creating healthier communities.
