St. Joseph Health and Texas A&M Health Science Center have collaborated about the health and wellness of the Brazos Valley area for over 20 years. The two organizations share similar values around improving the health and quality of life of the communities they serve through research, education and innovation in healthcare. In 2017, we began discussions with Texas A&M University about how to fundamentally improve the manner in which healthcare is being delivered in the Brazos Valley area. We have developed a detailed and actionable plan to fulfill this mission

  • St. Joseph Health and Texas A&M College of Medicine will have a co-branded primary care network, making St. Joseph Health the primary clinical partner for Texas A&M University.

Right now, both St. Joseph Health and Texas A&M Health Science Center are operating in a “business as usual” fashion, continuing our patient-centric focus and serving the Brazos Valley community.

CHI National, CHI Texas Division, St. Joseph Health and The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents approved the decision. We are confident this partnership is in the best interest of our patients, employees and the community.

The Brazos Valley area residents will first and foremost benefit from this partnership. The partnership will help bring better services and patient care to the community.

It is the ultimate goal of this partnership with Texas A&M Health Science Center that St. Joseph Health will not only retain its standing within the community, but also deliver the high quality healthcare and patient services that residents have come to expect from us.

Our diverse and robust due diligence teams are working hard to identify best practices to make sure the implementation of our priority initiatives will run as smoothly as possible for everyone involved.

The nature of this partnership will not require shifts in leadership and duplicated roles, so as of now, no management or staff changes will occur in the foreseeable future.

St. Joseph Health and Texas A&M Health Science Center have a co-branded primary care network. Clinics will remain wholly owned and operated by St. Joseph Health but will be identified as clinics for teaching.
